WEEK 2: THE STAIR

Image
CONNECTING The concept of 'Connecting' can be interpreted from these sets of stairs in a multifaceted way. The steep continuous climb upon the straight stair design is inspired by the extreme staircases seen in Buddhist temples offering an exhilarating experience to users as the steepness of the steps forces users to bend their heads to climb. This notion is known to allow users to focus on climbing the stairs, clearing their mind to aid their religious connection once they have reached the temple. The properties of jagged triangular shapes meant its edges could always connect with another similar shape hence the steps are physically connected by its bounding edges. OTHER DESIGNS

My stairs design, colour scheme, and texture directly reflects on the aesthetics of icebergs. From its irregular jagged edges and shape, 'floating' appeal, to the way its bright reflective white contrasts to the ocean grey blue.
